We are pleased to announce the re-advertisement of the Request for Expression of Interest (EOI) to undertake a comprehensive study on Agroecological Produce Cross-Border Trade within the East African Community (EAC). The Alliance for Food Sovereignty in Africa (AFSA), with support from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), is inviting suitable consultants or firms to submit proposals for this important study. The study aims to facilitate cross-border trading in agroecologically produced food among Eastern African countries and to provide actionable insights that will inform policy and practice in the region.

The initial round of submissions did not meet the required standards, and we are now reaching out to a broader pool of qualified candidates, regardless of their location. Consultants or firms outside the East African Community (EAC) region are strongly encouraged to apply if they meet the qualifications.

Key Requirements for Submission:

  • A signed letter of bid.
  • A technical proposal detailing the applicant’s understanding of the Terms of Reference (ToRs), methodology, timeline, and budget (maximum 4-6 pages).
  • Relevant experience, including at least two sample reports of similar assignments.
  • CVs of all team members involved in the study.
  • A financial proposal outlining professional fees and reimbursable expenses.

Please note that all submissions should be sent by email to afsa@afsafrica.org by 5:00 pm (East Africa Time) on October 31, 2024. Kindly use the subject line: “AFSA – Comprehensive Study on Agroecological Produce Cross Border Trade in the EAC.”

We encourage all eligible candidates to apply and look forward to receiving your submissions.
